Kelley Finds His Wonder Woman!!

Just one day after the audition video of Tanit Pheonix surfacing auditioning for the lead role in the Wonder Woman reboot, the role is apparently going to actress Adrianne Palicki.

Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki has landed the coveted lead role in the broadcaster’s reboot of the classic 1970s series.

In addition to having won praise for her performance on FNL, Palicki looks, well… spot-on perfect for the part, yes?
I never watched Friday Night Lights, but I have heard of the actress.  I'm still a bit stunned, considering the only audition video we saw for Wonder Woman was from Tanit Pheonix and yes, I know, die-hard Bridget Regan fans are sobbing like crazy right now because their girl didn't get it.

Also included in the Entertainment Weekly article is the official description. The series pilot is a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman — a.k.a. Diana Prince — is a vigilante crime fighter in Los Angeles but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

Kelley and Bill D’Elia (Boston Legal,The Practice) are the executive producers. The pilot was written by Kelley and will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner (NBC’s The Event). Wonder Woman is from David E. Kelley Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

I never saw Legend of the Seeker but after seeing a fan art of Regan as Wonder Woman, the idea of her in that role, sealed it for me. I will be following this news the rest of the day. Entertainment Weekly

Edit:This might worry a lot of fans but ComicBookResource is reporting that Palicki won the role of Wonder Woman because was the only actress invited to test for it. And the pilot series will reunite Palicki with the director Jeff Reiner who she worked with on Friday Night Lights for the series' early run on NBC. No other actresses were being considered for the part.  Which means Bridget Regan never even had a chance.  Kelley obviously already in mind his perfect Wonder Woman.
